Lexie was surrendered to us when she was becoming very stressed in her former home.  We took her in not knowing exactly what to expect.  She seemed to be fearful of some of our male volunteers.  We have put her in one of our best foster homes and she has just thrived!  She has been there about 6 weeks and her foster reports that she is a wonderful companion.  She has met some males and not been afraid of them.  She has liked every new person she has met.  The foster had another small dog staying with her for a short time, and while she never put the two dogs together, she had each one of them on either side of here and they were fine with each other - there was not aggression from Lexie at all.  She likes to go on long walks and also to lay in the sun.  She has learned to use the doggie door and is completetly housetrained.  Her foster reports that she would do well in a family where there is lots of activity. She is good with kids; however, because she tends to get excited, she would be best in a home with older children.   She has a bark that is a little intimidating, but she makes a great watchdog!  She is a little older so she would be a great companion for someone who doesn't want to go thru the puppy stages or energy of a younger dog.  Her foster would love for you to meet her so you can see what a great dog Lexie is!
