~This cutie is Emma.  A tiny Shih Tzu mix at about 8lbs. Emma was neglected prior to coming to DITR. Now that she is feeling better and beautiful she is ready for a home that will spoil her.

Emma is a sweet girl, loves her people and wants to be where ever you are.   She has energy and likes to play but is mature and has a calmness to her also. She would make a great companion dog.  Because of her age and size we think children over 12 are best if in the home.

She appears to be potty trained. However expect a few accidents when bringing a new dog home till they adjust. She is good on a leash and likes to go for walks around the neighborhood. She is crate trained but not a big fan of it. She will whine and cry at first but then calms down after a bit. However her foster mom has been allowing her to stay out of the crate when not at home and Emma has done great. 

Emma is in a foster home with other dogs. She can tend to be a little bit of a bully with them. So we think a home with no other dogs or maybe a more confident dog  would be best. A meet is always required. We are not sure how she is with cats.

If interested in Emma also keep in mind that she has hair and not fur. She needs to be brushed  regularly and see a groomer  every 3-4 weeks.

The adoption fee for Emma is $250.00.  She will come to you fully vetted, spayed, and microchipped.
