Agatha and her 2 siblings are from South Carolina.  With flood waters rising and major routes closed, the shelter needed help.

Agatha and her 2 siblings are FIV positive.  FIV cats do live long, happy healthy lives.  She will need to be in a home with either other FIV positive cats or in a home where play time is monitored.  And she must be kept indoors at all times.

Agatha and her siblings are very social and playful.  They are amazing kittens who deserve a chance just like all the others.

We do recommend researching FIV if you are not familiar with it before adopting.  There is a lot of information out there and there is a lot of conflicting information.  What we can say is t he only proven danger of transmission is via a bite, where the virus in the saliva is effectively injected directly into contact with the recipient's blood, thus infecting that cat.

More recently, the '1000 FIV cats project' has also collected information from owners of FIV cats around the world - well over 60% of which have FIV positive cats living with uninfected cats with, to date, not a single report of transmission of the virus within their household.

Either way, it is important to be informed.  Do your research and don't discount them just because, they are positive.  Many cats have never been tested.  Think about it, when you've seen a Free kittens sign.  Typically you go, pick out a cat, get it vaccinated and spayed/neutered.  How many have asked for a combo test unless you've already experienced it?

More information can be found at  http://www.fivcats.com/

Agatha is UTD on all vaccines and is already spayed.  Adoption fee is $125.00
