Rusty came in to the shelter cold, tired, and hungry.  In spite of this, he adored people and every second out of his kennel.  In his kennel, every second was spent pacing, barking and jumping to the point of breaking all of his toenails down to the quick.  Weeks passed and, even though he had won over everyone's heart, no one really knew what to do with him but everyone agreed he needed out.  Many hoops were jumped through and strings were pulled and Rusty is now in his own little suite sprawled out on the bed. 

Rusty is crate trained, but his foster only crates him at night; he can be trusted to be left out without getting into things!  He's made great progress with his reactivity to dogs his own size thanks to his foster and training classes; a meet & greet with potential adopter's dog(s) will be required.  On his most recent vet visit, it was determined that Rusty has broken his teeth with exposed nerves as well as impacted canine teeth!  This poor guy has been walking around in pain for who knows how long?  The dental work is not cheap nor are his training sessions, but it all contributes to Rusty having his best life.   

Rusty's bills are adding up.  Any donation to help offset Diamond's very generous investment in this sweet boy is very much appreciated.  He has come so far and still has far to go. Rusty is not currently available for adoption but we are accepting applications for when he is ready to move into his forever home!
