Pedro needs a caretaker or foster!
Won't you consider helping him get a new start?
Pedro was abandoned and entered a local shelter on October 5, 2012. His first stay was short and he was adopted on December 24, 2012, only to be returned 1 month later. Pedro spent the next 11 months at the shelter. During those 11 months he struggled with shelter life. Not only was he a black dog, who statistically are passed by, he did not "show well" in his kennel due to the stress he was under. The shelter continued to provide for him the best that they could and he was adopted again on December 4, 2013. Unfortunately he was returned again in January 2014.
After Pedro was returned a second time his kennel stress elevated. He was placed back up for adoption, but kept in the stray dog section as it was quieter and he would not have to see dogs go by him all throughout the day. This helped his stress level some, but made it more difficult to find a home for him. Pedro's case was taken on by 2 volunteers who loved him very much and committed to finding him a real home. He was promoted heavily and shared on social media. He even had his own Facebook page. His volunteers took him for walks to the park and even made arrangements to take him home for occasional sleep overs when it could be arranged. On August 25, 2014 Pedro was adopted. He had found his forever family.
Then in 2018 his owner died. Pedro remained with a family member , but unfortunately, for reasons beyond his control, he could not keep Pedro. Pedro is now 10 years old and once again looking for a pace to lay his head.
