This adorable little peanut is Ollie! Ollie was dumped at a high kill shelter in TX, where his sweet disposition won over the hearts of local rescuers. Several rescues joined forces and Diamonds was able to pull him from death row.
Ollie loves all people, but because of everything he's been through in his short life, he needs slow introductions to new people. Once he understands you don't mean him any harm, prepare to be loved, cuddled, kissed and HUGGED... Yep, giving hugs is Ollie's very favorite thing and he is an expert at it!
He also loves other dogs; he currently has 2 foster Pug brothers. He and the younger, playful one hit it off right away. Ollie took correction very well from the older (grumpier, lol) one, but soon won him over and now "Grumpy" happily shares his bed with Ollie. Ollie would do best in a home with another dog to play and snuggle with (as always, a meet and greet with resident dogs and any frequently visiting dogs is required). Besides playing with other dogs and people, Ollie is especially fond of fluffy, soft toys.
This spunky little guy still has some puppy energy, so he will need plenty of exercise, playtime and walks to help him burn it off. All dogs adjusting to new homes are considered a flight risk and we always recommend taking extra precautions to ensure a rescue pup’s safety and Ollie is no exception; he loves to run, so we recommend using extra caution on walks; Ollie is highly reactive to squirrels (you'll notice his foster is using both a martingale collar and a harness), when opening doors to the outside of your home (his foster is using a baby gate as an extra layer of protection against “door dashing”) and not leaving him outside unattended (even in a fenced-in yard) at least until he's fully acclimated to your home. Diamonds will happily provide support and guidance throughout Ollie's "decompression" period.
Ollie adores kids, but due to his puppy energy and expert hugging talent (gently placing his paws on your shoulders), we're recommending a home with older, respectful children to ensure little ones don't accidentally get knocked over.
Ollie has his paws crossed for his furever home! So, if you and your dog(s) are looking for a walking, hugging, playtime & snuggle buddy, fill out an adoption application to make Ollie’s wish come true!
