Diesel is a 10 yr young Chihuahua mix. His elderly owner can no longer care for him and he’s looking for a new home. Diesel is shy and needs time to warm up to new people. He gets along with other dogs. But a meet is always required. We are not sure about cats but do know he likes to chase small animals like rabbits and squirrels.  

His foster mom says as long as he is taken out to potty on a regular basis he is ok. When she is gone for long periods she puts a couple pee pads down for him to use. This is what his former owner used to do. Please remember when bringing a new dog in your home there may be accidents until they adjust! 

Diesel is vocal and because of this we don’t think apartment living is a option as he might annoy other tenants. He is not destructive and can be left out alone. He does love to chill on the sofa and watch TV and go for walks. Him and foster mom are working on his leash skills.

His foster mom recommends a home where someone is home a lot. Maybe a retiree or if you work from home and need a buddy. It would be great too if they had secure fenced in yard. She also recommends no small children. It’s not that he’s bad with them but he can be skiddish with loud noises or fast movements.
