This sweet duo needs a foster or furever home!  Momma Mercy & her daughter Boo Boo have a heartbreaking history. Their owner had to move out of her home on short notice and had nowhere for her dogs to go, so their owner made an appointment to surrender thems to a shelter with a high kill rate. Fortunately, these two girls touched the hearts of local animal rescuers and they reached out to us to save them! 

The girls both had medical issues from years of neglect and were severely underweight. Boo Boo had been spayed, but Mercy was not and her body condition indicates she'd been over bred for years. We recently had Mercy spayed and were saddened to learn there was a cyst on one of her ovaries that could've caused a serious health risks if it hadn't been caught in time.  In spite of all this, the girls are as sweet as can be!

Boo Boo is estimated to be around 3 1/2 years old.  She soaks up the love and appears to have a goofy personality that will bloom as soon as she feels better.   She learns quickly, is obedient, easy to train, friendly and loving. She was cat tested and was totally calm and bordering on uninterested, however she's very interested in spending time with and receiving attention from people!

Mercy estimated to be around 5 1/2 years old.  It seems she hasn't received receive as much socialization or love from people in the past as her daughter has.  She can be a bit stubborn & needs to be redirected if she sets her mind on doing something she shouldn't.  She was much too interested in the cat during her cat test, so cats are a "no" for her.  

We have not had this duo around other dogs; a meet & greet with any resident or frequently visiting dogs would be required.  Mercy & Boo Boo haven't been around children since coming into our rescue, so we're recommending only older (13 yrs+) chlildren who will understand and respect the girls' needs.  Both girls are crate and house trained.  As the girls decompress and realize they are safe, we'll get to see their true personalities blossom; at that time, we will reassess their bond and their need to be fostered and adopted together.  Please fill out a foster or adoption application to meet these two and bring them one step closer to finding their "Happily Ever After"!
