Rookie is looking for a new home through no fault of his own. He has some training and knows commands. He minds his manners for the most part except he will jump up a lot when he is excited. But he is only 2 and easily corrected with treats and positive reinforcement.
Rookie would love an active family to take him on walks, runs, hikes, etc. You name it he wants to do it! He likes swimming too! Rookie has never lived with another dog or a cat so ideally, we would like for him to be the only animal in your home. He does not react negatively to dogs he sees while on walks or in his current neighborhood, he just hasn't lived with another animal.
The most important thing about Rookie is that he responds extremely well to positive reinforcement. He does not respond well with impatient yelling or aggressive correction (especially when it is coming from a male) So a family that understands this is absolutely necessary for Rookie to be successful in his new home!
Rookie is perfect for kids 8+ as he jumps a lot when in play-mode. We wouldn't want a tiny human to get hurt by accident. Fill out an application if you think Rookie would be a good fit for your family!
