Her name truly fits her. She is a super sweet and "happy" girl! Just look at her pictures- it is so obvious :)
Happy was found as a stray and after her stray hold period, the shelter reached out for rescue assistance (because currently, she is a medical special needs dog). DITR stepped up to help her.
Happy is suspected to be a Belgian Malinois mix. She was aged at the shelter to be around 4 years old, however, her primary vet believes her to be younger. Around 2 years old.
Happy is very social, good with all humans, including children (who are used to high energy) She is great with other dogs and her foster mom feels that she needs a doggie partner in her furever home.
Happy is crate-trained and has basic obedience work
Here is a little background on her medical needs:
Happy is and was exhibiting an inability to hold her urination for “normal” periods of time (with some leaking suspected). We had an ultrasound done by a board-certified radiologist who found that Happy has an abnormal narrowing (distention) of her ureter. Therefore, we are off to Cornell to learn more and determine if medical management and/or surgery will be the right option. The appointment will take place in January 2021.
In the meantime, we are on the hunt for Happy's furever home. One that will show her patience and will continue to work with us, and her, to get her feeling her best ever!
