Chief needs a caretaker or foster!
Won't you consider helping him get a new start?
Chief is an extremely special dog. This young boy does come from a rough past, however, he has one of the most loving hearts. He has the potential to be an outstanding walking and distance running partner.
Chief prefers to meet new people one at a time. He is very meek and slow to be comfortable with strangers.
A rough and unfortunate puppyhood and hurtful interactions have left Chief slow to trust new dogs, and more importantly people. Calm, quiet, and confidence are key! He will sing or hum you a terribly annoying song when he begins to love his new people and relationships.
Chief will take some time to really get the "Do’s and Do Not's" of his new home. He doesn't make a mess nor take up much space, but he will undoubtedly need ample time to establish new relationships, on and off-leash. Chief responds best to POSITIVE reinforcement (Food and Praise) and light redirections with a leash. And he LOVES to play fetch! Chief's furever home needs to be a quiet one with low foot traffic. He will not do well in a busy home with lots of people coming in and out.
Please fill out an application to meet the handsome Chief!
