King needs a caretaker or foster!
Won't you consider helping him get a new start?
King is a giant, playful, goofy guy who thinks he's a lap dog! He's shy at first with new people; he needs slow introductions to understand that he's safe but then he warms up quickly! He adores women but we believe he may have been mistreated by men in the past, so he needs men to be patient & give him time to relax around them. He's basically a big baby; anxious at first, but a big love once he relaxes.
King will do best in a calm home with a structured routine. He'll always prefer to be with his people! His scars tell a story; he's been attacked by other dogs in the past, so he needs to be your one & only dog. He's not a dog park or doggy daycare dog. Putting him in those types of situations would stress him out unnecessarily.
We'd love for King to have a fenced in yard to run around, play and burn off energy. He's a big dog & needs help learning leash manners. If his person is dedicated & comfortable working on that with him, frequent daily walks and play sessions could also do the trick. Once his burst of energy is gone, this guy turns into a cuddly couch potato! He knows "give paw" and "sit"; he's eager to please & treat motivated.
Due to his size, we're recommending only respectful kids 10 yrs and older. Cats are unknown at this time. Mastiff or XL dog breed experience preferred, but not required.
If you're looking for a big buddy who's the perfect balance of playful and cuddly, King might be the dog for you!
