Meet Maverick, this boy needs a patient owner. He is afraid of new people. Maverick tends to be more hesitant when he first meets men and warms up quickly to females. He seems to be either abused or traumatized and was found running loose before someone took him to a shelter in S. Carolina. He warms up to people who talk gently to him, give him space, and let him come to THEM in his own time.
Maverick likes running and playing with other dogs, chasing a ball and playing keep-away with it, and he loves to be loved and hugged. He currently lives with a cat and she tolerates him. He has also been arounds kids and he is very good with them. We believe he is a Golden Retriever mixed perhaps with an English Labrador.
He will benefit from someone who will work on handling him and getting him out for adventures and walks!
