KODA aka ‘Koda Bear’

This pretty lady is intelligent, curious, playful, affectionate and comes with a little bit of sass!  Koda is approximately 2 years old with a real zest for life.  She is a low to medium energy dog, who can quickly be satisfied athletically and then lounge on the couch for hours (hopefully with you).  Although Koda mostly sleeps on the couch, she can be a big bed hog if it’s cold out!  

She watches tv (up close and personal if animals are on), enjoys a brisk walk and chasing a ball, loves chewing her bones / Yak cheese sticks, knows various commands, and will pretty much do ANYTHING for food.  In fact, Miss Koda is working on her own personal diet plan to shed a few pounds because of her passion for food!  The fact that Koda is so food motivated, makes her very trainable and patient - she went on a dog treadmill without batting an eye and also endured hours of dress up for a photo shoot. She learns her commands fairly quickly and will sit / stay for her meals until she is ‘released’.  Koda is comfortable in her crate and often lays in there when she is told to ‘GO’ away from the dinner table. She may or may not go to her crate on command but she will let you lead her to it (Kong with Peanut Butter incentive) and then remain in there quietly - long after you return home.  Koda is working through the tail end of some puppy behaviors but since she takes strong verbal corrections so seriously and is so food motivated, she is 100% manageable in capable hands.

Koda doesn’t seem to bark at dogs walking by the big bay window but she will bark at humans, especially if they are coming to the door. She is learning to dial it back when asked. Although Koda is extremely interested in other dogs, we are working to see what her full potential is in regard to socializing with them. At this time we would suggest that Koda is an only dog and that there are no cats in the home. Because she is a strong girl, we also suggest she’s in a home with older well-behaved children.
