Kimber is a 2 yr old gorgeous brindle girl who was found as a stray and never claimed. She waited patiently at a local shelter for almost a year! That's far too long (as is the case for so many local pets these days), but especially for a playful dog who craves human interaction. Kimber's currently in a foster home (YAY!!!), so we'll continue to update her profile as she decompresses!

Volunteers described Kimber as a happy-go-lucky gal. She waits quietly for her turn out in the play yard, watching the dog who's already out there as they run & play. Sometimes Kimber has some celebratory zoomies to get out as soon as she gets outside, but then she calms down quickly. This sweetheart also enjoys time in the quiet room at the shelter, where she loves to cuddle up with volunteers and to collect toys & put them in her bed (check out her video below)! 

If you're looking for a sweet dog who's the perfect balance of playful and cuddly, Kimber's your girl! We're told she also has the cutest pitty-snort. How adorable is that?!?

Kimber  has some excess weight she needs to loose from her extended stay at the shelter . Regular exercise and playtime  along with reduced portions of a good quality dog food should do the trick!

Kimber likes cats and LOVES to play with other dogs but as always, a dog meet & greet with resident and frequently visiting dogs facilitated by a DITR volunteer is required. Kimber would love to have a a home with another playful dog & she respects when other dogs let her know it's time for a break. She will  do best in a home with children big enough not to be tipped over if they're accidentally bumped and old enough to understand and be respectful with a large dog.

Thanks to the kindness of volunteers, shelter staff & Kimber's sweet disposition,  she's remained in great spirits throughout her shelter stay! Because she's been in a shelter environment for almost a year, Kimber  needs someone willing to provide the love, time & patience needed to properly decompress & transition from shelter life to a loving home.
