Heroux is a very sweet old guy and even though he looks young in the face, I would say he seems somewhere between 9-11 years old.  Best guess is that he is an Australian Shepherd or Border Collile/Husky mix and he weighs about 45-50 lbs.  He is shorter and stocky with huge paws.  He is a very solid dog but only comes up to about knee to thigh height.  He has some dental issues and will need a thorough cleaning and he appears to have a mild case of hip dysplasia.  He seems to get around pretty well, he just struggles with stairs and slippery floors like laminate, linoleum or hardwood.  He also seems to be partially deaf, but he definitely appears to hear different pitches and his hearing issues do not seem to affect him.  There is a possibility that he may have some mild issues with his sight also, but again, it doesn't seem to hamper him in any way.
He has been around a child, a couple of cats, and both large and small dogs and he has done fine.  He couldn't have cared less about the cats, even afte one bopped him on the nose and hissed!
He needs a patient and kind owner who will cherish him for his individual personality and work to learn what is best to be a great companion for him.
