Hi every one. I'm Jenni, and I'm the new kid on the block at DITR. I just wanted to let everyone know that I will be looking for my forever home soon. I am currently undergoing treatment for Heartworm, but once that is all done, I will be a healthy girl, and ready to go home.
I am told I am very special. Not so sure about that, but I do know that everyone who meets me, loves me. I know THIS, because I get lots of cuddles and hugs and kisses, and belly rubs, and scratches behind the ears, and the list goes on.
I really do love everyone. My foster home has 3 other dogs, all bigger than me and I love them. My next door neighbor has all small dogs, and I love all of them too. I even like cats. I tend to ignore them altogether, but sometimes I like to lay on the couch or bed with them. They are good cuddling companions.
I absolutely love kids. My neighbor has an 11 year old little girl that I love to play in the yard with, or lay in her lap. Little kids give the best hugs EVER!
My foster mama says that I am really well behaved, and great off leash. See, we live in the woods, and only have one neighbor, so we are allowed to run around our yard (of course with mama and daddy outside with us) without a leash on. I come right back when someone calls me. I don't even chase the chipmunks, birds or squirrels. And there are a lot of them out there!
I am a pretty calm girl. Mostly because I have to be because of my Heartworm treatment, but also, because that's just my nature.
I sit nicely for treats, and will take them from you gently. I also take my meds like a champ. Just put a little tiny bit of peanut butter on them, and I will gobble them right up. I know how to sit, shake and stay.
I also like playing around in the water. My foster mom and dad live on a lake and I play around in the water all the time. I haven't actually gone "swimming" yet, but I love to splash around in the water.
Some of my favorite things to play with are bones. Any kind of bones. Nylabones, meaty bones, bone shaped toys, kongs with a milkbone in it. If it looks, smells, or tastes like a bone, I want it! I also play with my "stuffies". Plain and simple, I just like toys.
If you think that I might be the perfect addition to your family, please fill out an application. Just know, that I cannot go to my new home until my heartworm treatment is done. Hopefully that will be by the end of July, beginning of August. I also want to state that I will have no lasting health issues once my heartworm treatment is all wrapped up. I will be a 100% healthy little girl!
