Sammy is a 1 ½ year old Staffordshire Bull Terrier/Boston Terrier mix. He is as sweet as the day is long, and the absolute most perfect snuggler. He wants to be close to you when you are home. He is never under foot, but never far away.
He gets along famously with all dogs, and even cats. He loves to play, and loves to play rough. He takes ques from dogs who simply don’t want to play, and leaves them alone. But dogs that do want to play, game on. He would do well with another dog who also enjoys the rougher style of play.
Sammy is a short and stout little Samurai. He currently weighs roughly 50lbs and barely comes up to his foster moms knee.
Sam was found as a stray in the city of Rochester, so not much is known about his past. We assume he lived on his own for some time. He has some missing teeth, which cause his tongue to hang out of one side of his mouth. This doesn’t prevent him from eating or drinking. He also has a fear of rain. Not thunder, but rain. He doesn’t “freak out”, he just simply looks for a dark, quiet place to relax. That place may occasionally be the bathtub. J
Sam is a very well behaved boy. He knows sit, down and stay, is housebroken, doesn’t chew things he’s not supposed, and is crate trained. He is also up to date on all vaccinations, microchipped, neutered, and heartworm tested negative. He doesn’t play toys, balls, etc, but does like to occasionally chew on them. He will also do anything for a treat. Including staring at you with the most adorable sad puppy eyes you’ve ever seen.
Sams ideal home would have another dog. He has gained a lot of confidence just by having other dogs around. He’s becoming more and more brave every day.
If you are looking for an adorable, well mannered, rock solid temperament, snuggly, little new friend, look no further. You have just found him. And his name is Samuel!
