Hi guys! My name is Tyson, and sometimes they call me Ty for short! I ended up in rescue because my mommy was in a pretty tough spot and wasn't able to keep me anymore. She didn't want me to go to a shelter so she asked the nice people with Diamonds In The Ruff if they would please help me, and they said they didn't want to see me in a shelter either so they agreed to take me in, thank goodness, because the shelter didn't sound like a very nice place for a boy like me to go!

In my home I lived with a bunch of kitty siblings and I was very, very good with them. I also had a very little girl who I loved to pieces. Because I was the only doggy there, DITR brought over a trainer/behaviorist and some rescue volunteers to meet me first, who brought their own dogs to test me with, a big boy dog and a medium sized girl dog. Man was I ever excited! I hadn't had a chance to play with other doggies in so long I was literally jumping for joy, but I was not mean at all with either of them, I just wanted to play!

I was a house doggy so I am potty trained, and I'm also a good boy in my kennel! The only thing the Diamonds people say I need is some good manners, because I do so love to jump up and lick people's faces, and I never got to go out on a leash much so I do like to pull, but it's just because I am a happy boy who loves to be out for walks, and who could blame a guy, right?

I promise I am working really hard to learn not to jump and to walk better on a leash. I do have a bad ear infection too but the Diamonds people got me in to see a vet and I got medicine for that, and they say I should get better soon! They got me all my shots updated, and had me checked for heartworm too, and I am all clear! I was already neutered, so all I need now is a new family that is willing to help me learn some better "manners". I would prefer a house, not an apartment, and a fenced yard would be just awesome as I do best if I can exercise daily. I may be 3 & 1/2 years old, but they tell me I act like I am a pup and have lots of energy, so an active home is also important, as I'm no couch potato kind of dog. I'd love for someone to take me for long walks, hikes, or I could even be a good running/jogging buddy.
