Let me introduce myself, as I am an older gentleman with manners.   My rescuer named me Bagger Vance.   I am a senior fellow and I was loved once.  I had a human to call my own.  I was taken care of, neutered and front declawed (but not microchipped).  I likely lived happily indoors for many years, adored and adoring.  I come when I am called, and I don’t scare easily.  I likely didn’t “run off”, “run away” or “wander off”, I was dumped by someone who did not care about me.

I found myself in the scary outdoors, thankfully it was summer at least.  I arrived at a golf course.  While they felt sorry for me, they were scared of my wasted body and black fur.  After all, there were plenty of mice – why wasn’t I living off of them?

But then a loving cat lady came.  She wasn’t scared of my skeletal looks and matted coat.  She immediately offered me a hand and I responded with an outpouring of love and affection.  I stayed by her side even though a car ride to her home.  Thankfully for me, she worked for a rescue – Diamonds in the Ruff.  And she made sure I went into foster care in this great big, warm home with this amazing foster family!

After fattening me up some, I went back to the vet for a recheck.  Really, I looked quite good for an old man like me, they think I’m at least 10.  My kidneys and thyroid levels are great.  I don’t have diabetes.  I had a dental which removed all my teeth and a non-cancerous mass from my mouth.

I was loved once.  Let me be loved again.
