Hi my name is Carson. I am a handsome Golden Retriever/Aussie mix. I am under 2 years old so you know what that means, lots of energy. My foster mom says she could power their entire house if she could store up my energy. Haha!

 

I'm very smart of course. My foster dad is teaching me to "sit" for cookies and mom is trying to teach  me "off" and "wait". I'm doing really well with sit.  I haven't shown any interest in chewing things that I shouldn't but I really like my elk antler toy.

 

I need an active family with no really small children, but that's not because I am aggressive I am just very bouncy and playful so I would be likely to knock over babies and toddlers. I will need a fenced yard to run in and wear off some of my energy, I am not suited to apartment living. If you let me sleep in your room, I will be very quiet. If I have to sleep somewhere else I will cry, I just want to be where people are.

 

I chase cats so a cat free home is best. I still need to learn some good doggie manners in relating to other dogs but generally I don't have any problem with them, in fact it would be great if I had a playful and friendly doggy sibling.

 

Going to obedience classes would be good for me so that I can learn to channel my energy. Flyball or agility would be great for me, or even being a jogging/running buddy.

 

Something that is really important is that I can NEVER BE CRATED. I  can be gated in a room but never a crate. The reason for this was because my first owners weren't so great. I lived in a cage pretty much 24 hours a day, every day, and trust me that wasn't fun for a pup like me. So, I stress very badly in a crate now. My first owners didn't do any training with me, so it's all new to me. I am picking up stuff fast from my nice foster family though, I'm very smart!
